SteamPop Code Mission 01: Digital Pet Inventor (Saturdays)

Code, create, and bring an interactive pet to life!

Digital Pet Inventor is a four-session live online coding mission for beginners ages 10–13. Using the BBC micro:bit, children explore coding and physical computing—using code to make real objects respond to buttons, touch, sound, and movement.

During the mission, children will:

• Create an expressive digital pet
• Build a reaction challenge
• Make a motion-controlled game
• Design an animal from recycled cardboard
• Transform it into a personalized interactive pet

Technology Required

Participants need a laptop or Chromebook with a USB port, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, a reliable internet connection, and access to the selected live-class platform.

Refund and Cancellation Policies

Because registration reserves one of six live-class spaces and includes a physical SteamPop Inventor Kit, the following cancellation policy applies:

• Cancellations received at least seven calendar days before the first scheduled class are eligible for a $100 refund. The participant may keep the SteamPop Inventor Kit; no return is required.
• Cancellations received fewer than seven calendar days before the first scheduled class are nonrefundable.
• Once the first class has started, registration is nonrefundable. This includes missed sessions and withdrawal from the course.
• Inventor Kits and individual kit components are not returnable or refundable.
• Cancellation requests must be submitted by email order@steampoplabs.com and include the purchaser’s name and order number. Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method.
